This term, the Year 2 classroom has a theme of ‘Travel’ scattered throughout it. In Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS), we are learning about the seven continents, and looking at many different countries and cultures that exist around the world. We have read the story ‘Brock the Balloonist’. Brock is now traveling the world and sending our class letters, telling us all about where he has been and what he has learnt on his journey.
We have been learning about procedure texts and when we use them. We have been looking at how a procedure tells us how to do or make something through a series of steps, like a recipe or instructions.
Students have been creating and following different procedures. Last week, the Year 2 students followed a recipe to make their own marshmallow snowman. They checked they had the right ingredients, and followed the procedure step-by-step, in order to make their delicious snowman.
Our biblical focus in Devotions this term is looking at the character of Jesus and how we can be more like Him. We began the term splitting into pairs and praying for each other. It was a beautiful way to begin a new term together!
