This term, Digital Technologies has been an exciting experience. From our youngest learners exploring safe and responsible technology use to our senior students designing and creating with advanced tools, every class has been busy developing problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

Through these experiences, students have been reminded that technology is a gift from God that can be used to serve others, care for creation, and reflect His creativity. They have discovered how technology connects to the world around them and how their own God-given ideas can come to life through hands-on learning and innovation.

Students from Prep to Year 2 began by learning about cyber safety and how to keep themselves and their friends safe online. They were introduced to coding with Bee-Bots, writing simple programs to solve movement challenges and debug errors. Students have also explored the hardware inside computers, identifying various components and even assembling some of them themselves.

Year 3 has focused on biosecurity and the importance of protecting our land, animals, and environment from invasive species such as the fruit fly. Students were challenged to help ‘catch’ an unknown fruit fly rumoured to be buzzing around the school by designing and building creative bug catchers from recyclable materials.

Year 4 has explored 3D modelling and design, creating custom keyrings from concept to finished product. They sketched ideas, refined designs, and used 3D software to bring their creations to life before printing them on the school’s 3D printer. Watching their digital designs become real objects was a highlight of the term.

Year 5 and 6 students have been preparing for the FIRST Lego League (FLL) Challenge, an international robotics competition that combines creativity, technology, and innovation. The FLL encourages deep engagement in STEM through two key components: a robot game and an innovation project. This year’s theme, Archaeology, challenges students to explore how technology can help discover and preserve ancient artefacts. They have identified real-world problems, sought advice from experts, and followed the STEM design cycle to test and refine practical solutions.

All Year 5 and 6 students will take part in our In-house FLL Competition, where they can test their robots, present their ideas, and celebrate teamwork and creativity. We were also thrilled to have two teams from our school represent us at the FIRST Lego League Regional Competition on Saturday. These students demonstrated outstanding dedication throughout the entire journey, attending a Boot Camp during the holidays and utilising their own time to refine code, test robots, and strengthen their projects. Their enthusiasm, commitment, and teamwork have been inspiring to see.

As the term draws to a close, it has been wonderful to see our students using technology with curiosity, purpose, and care. Across all year levels, they have grown not only in technical skill but also in understanding how innovation can be used to serve others and bring glory to God. We are proud of the creativity, perseverance, and teamwork they have shown and look forward to seeing how they continue to use their gifts to make a positive difference in God’s world.

Parents on time at the bus stop

Kinetic, who operates our three free bus services, have asked if we can please remind parents about the importance of being at the bus stop in time to meet the bus in the afternoon. There have been several recent incidents where no parent or adult was present at the stop to meet a student. This delays the service, and it can be difficult trying to contact parents after hours to confirm their location, as all of the bus services continue and finish after the school office has closed.

If your child catches a bus, the TransportMe app is a great way to track the bus while it is travelling along the route. Kinetic can be contacted directly on

We recognise that God created all people in His image and calls us to celebrate the diversity of His creation, therefore, we have been learning about how traditions, cultures, and beliefs shape our shared identity. Exploring the connections between community, values, and history helps us develop a deeper appreciation for Australia’s diverse heritage and the ways people come together in gratitude and unity, reflecting God’s love and purpose for all.

Over the past couple of weeks in English, the students have delved into Australian poetry, exploring The Ant Explorer by C. J. Dennis and Mulga Bill’s Bicycle by A. B. ‘Banjo’ Paterson. In class, we’ve been learning how poets use rhythm, rhyme, and other poetic devices to tell their stories and make their writing come alive in different ways in a narrative. While studying Mulga Bill’s Bicycle, we explored how Paterson used rhyme and a special poetic pattern called the ‘fourteener’ to create rhythm and energy in his poem.

As we read and discuss these poems, we are reminded that God is the ultimate Creator and storyteller. Just as these poets use creativity to express ideas and entertain readers, we too can use the gifts God has given us; our imagination, language, and curiosity to bring joy and truth into the world.

Student Representative Council (SRC) Missions Update

Local Mission: Vinnies Christmas Appeal

During Term 4, our Student Representative Council (SRC) has chosen to support the St Vincent de Paul Society through the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. This important local mission aims to bring relief and hope to families and individuals who may be struggling during the festive season.

With the rising cost of living affecting so many, our contribution will help ensure that more people in our community can experience joy, dignity, and hope this Christmas. These donations will be used to create emergency relief packs that will be delivered to Vinnies for distribution to those in need.

We are excited to be hosting our Thanksgiving Service in the Performing Arts Centre this year.

This is a special opportunity to celebrate students' achievements, the wonderful year we have shared as a school community, and to give thanks to God for His faithfulness this year.

The service will include:

• Celebrating our Kindergarten and Year 6 graduates

• Announcing our 2026 School Leaders

• Awarding excellence in student learning and character

• Enjoying performances from students

A time of fellowship and morning tea will conclude the service.

Tickets are FREE but essential and limited to two per family due to capacity. Children five years and under do not require a ticket.

Allergy season has begun, and we ask that parents ensure that if their child suffers from seasonal hay fever or has issues with the guinea pigs, they consider giving their child a preventative antihistamine before coming to school.

While we have antihistamine available at school, it is generally reserved for emergency care, such as anaphylactic reactions.

If you would like to send medication (tablets or eye drops) to school to assist your child, please provide a completed Authorisation to Administer Medication form along with the medication, in line with our school policy.
